Greenwood art may not be much in comparison to cultural behemoth Indianapolis, but it certainly can hold its own. The Southside Arts League offers classes and workshops in an array of different mediums, along with a gallery showcasing featured artists of the surrounding area
. Hone your skills in watercolors or oils in one of the many classes offered in painting. Learn to paint portraits or add a new technique to your artistic toolbox. Ceramics are offered, as well as classes specifically aimed towards Greenwood children. Many exhibitions and shows are held throughout the year in Greenwood, Indiana, giving the community a chance to participate in the artistic endeavors put forth by the Southside Arts League.

If music is your preferred form of the performance arts, the Greater Greenwood Community Band is a must see. In addition to the band’s participation in the Greenwood Park‘s Summer Concert Series, several performances are available throughout the year for music lovers to enjoy. Many of these performances are conveniently located at Greenwood High School, a staple of Greenwood education. The all volunteer band focuses on developing its member’s musical abilities and providing an outlet for members to perform publicly; it also encourages community enrichment through the various entertainment performances.

This is in addition to the variety of cultural experiences, symphony, theater, opera, and various other performance art opportunities available in the greater Indianapolis area.
