Greenwood Community Center: Get Active in Greenwood!
The Greenwood Community Center is an interesting-looking, brown and tan, multi-level building in Greenwood, Indiana, a suburb just south of Indianapolis. This attractive home for community activities is a good reflection of what Central Indiana is all about: family and friendship.
The Community Center offers both a gymnasium for adults and the “Tot Open Gym” for kids, (open in the mornings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays). Both spaces are perfect spots to make you or your kids a lean, mean, Greenwood sports playing machine.
Inside the big people’s space is a basketball and volleyball gymnasium, an aerobics room, lockers and restrooms, a weight room, and a walking and running track. Other amenities for those over 18 are pool tables, foosball, ping-pong, and passive games, as well as all the necessary equipment for each activity. Greenwood kids under 18 are not allowed in the adult area, which is on the second level of the facility.
The “Tot Open Gym” is available for supervised play. The room is safe clean, and filled with cool rubber furniture for kids to crawl and bounce on.
The Greenwood Community Center has teamed with Greenwood’s mayor to develop the Commit to Be Fit Program. This community program is comprised of various lifestyle fitness classes designed to offer everyone in the community an opportunity to get in shape.
Some of the Commit to Be Fit classes offered at the Greenwood Community Center Center are: Spinning, Yoga, Belly Dancing, Step Aerobics and P.A.C.E. (Parent And Children Exercise). There is also a specialized, low-impact cardiovascular and toning class. There is a charge for each class, ranging from $3 to $21, depending on the subject and whether the participant is a Greenwood resident.
The Greenwood Community Center has grown up to include several meeting rooms of various sizes and a kitchen, all for reasonable rent. A nice new feature of the Greenwood Community Center is their “Television Wall,” which allows guests to enjoy their favorite movie, game or TV show as they work out.
Those who enjoy the Greenwood Community Center buy passes to do so. The prices are resident-friendly, and include different packages, as well as discounts for kids under seven and seniors over 55.

This may be a wierd question but I got to ask. I will be moving to Greenwood soon not sure of exact date as I am waiting for the army to get me my release papers. I am wanting ot know if you have any interest in putting a martial arts school in your building to add to your business. This would be great for people with multiple kids and adults may be interested in it as well and it would also contribute to more funds for the building. The only thing we would need to work out is the prices and what cut you would recieve.
